Abstract

Despite the compelling need for process improvement and the burden on staff of inefficient practices, disruptive changes caused by technology implementation are often met with internal resistance. While organisational change and change management have been well researched, with recommended change management steps and processes advocated, the real-world reality often falls short of the theory. Unless projects have been well scoped, resourced and monitored they can often be delayed or derailed by lack of engagement and adoption of these changes. This session will present case studies of implementation of a clinical trials management solution deployed at multiple clinical trial units in the Australian hospital sector. Speakers will highlight the methodology and key success factors which, despite the usual day-to-day technical and people challenges, have resulted in efficient, on-time implementations.
