A registered pharmacist in NSW, Sarah is an experienced regulatory affair professional with over a decade of experience in regulatory affairs. Her background includes prescription and OTC medicines and medical devices. She also has experience in quality and in the review of advertising and promotional materials. Sarah brings enthusiasm and practicality to her role and is keenly attuned to client needs. She brings additional depth to the team as a Business Development Manager who is used to being part of global teams and is able to take on a diverse range of projects very effectively.

Biography

Samar Alrawi is a multifaceted professional with a distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry. She has held various roles across different companies and therapeutic areas, demonstrating her leadership prowess by spearheading Medical Information and Pharmacovigilance, including serving as the Australian QPPV, at both the country and regional levels. Currently positioned at Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) as a Regional Medical Specialist across the Asia-Pacific markets, she commands the oncology and infectious disease therapy areas and is currently transitioning to assume Global responsibilities. With a background in law and biological science, majoring in molecular biology, supplemented by a graduate certificate in Pharmaceutical Medicine and Drug Development, she leverages her industry expertise to drive impactful outcomes.

Medical Affairs/MI generates and communicates data that help healthcare professionals, payors and others make the best treatment to benefit patients. Furthermore, patients can gain timely access to transformative healthcare solutions through effective reimbursement strategies. During the final session, we examine the role of medical affairs, medical information, and reimbursement in facilitating patient access to new and innovative therapies.

Biography

Matt is a Medical Affairs and Managing Director, renowned for a solid career within the pharmaceutical sector. With expertise in Pharmaceutical Medicine, Oncology, and Haematology, and with a MMedSc in Pharmaceutical Medicine from UNSW Australia, the facilitator brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience. Currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on the role of Medical Affairs in the Quality Use of Medicine (QUM) and its impact on patient outcomes.

Biography

Oona Reardon, founder and director of Pulse Economics has more than 20 years' experience in the healthcare sector in private, public and academic roles. Oona's expertise includes PBAC and MSAC reimbursement submissions, health economic evaluations, market access strategy, evidence-based literature reviews, economic modelling and budget impact analysis. Prior to consulting, Oona held a Research Fellow position at the Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
